Rangers boss Mark Warburton has revealed that youngster Jordan Rossiter is nearing a full recovery, but putting a date on his potential return won't be feasible.

The youngster has been out of action since August after picking up an injury during the 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock away from home.

Since then the player has suffered a number of setbacks, which has put a question mark over his participation for Rangers this season.

However, the 54-year-old manager now insists that the player is gradually recovering match fitness and he and his staff are hopeful of having him back in action soon.

Warburton though refuses to put a specific date on Rossiter's return, insisting that it would put unnecessary pressure on the player.

“Jordan is getting there. He will be working outside this week", Warburton said at a pre-match press conference.

“I get very frustrated because I know his frustration and his pain at not being able to play as much as he wanted to this season.

“We know what a good player he is. He is an outstanding young talent.

“I am not going to put pressure on him and give you a date of coming back but the fact that he is going outside soon is good news and fingers crossed we see Jordan sooner rather than later.”

The midfielder, who came through Liverpool's youth academy, has managed a total of six appearances for the team so far and will be raring to go when he recovers from the injury.
