Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has stressed that Spurs have grown exponentially in the last two-and-a-half years and are progressing the project he started when he arrived at White Hart Lane.

Pochettino has transformed Spurs since his arrival and he also helped them finish third in the league table last season, their best position in the history of the Premier League.

After surrendering to Leicester City in the title challenge last season, he is again challenging for silverware with his team in this campaign.

In a recent press conference, the Argentine was asked whether he is further ahead in his project at Tottenham. While he is unsure whether that is the case, he does feel Spurs are 1,000 miles better off than they were.

“I don’t know, that is too difficult for me to judge because we are ambitious and we want to win every game”, Pochettino said in a press conference.

“I think if we go backwards to our first season, we now start to see, analyse and judge and I think we are a thousand miles ahead but in football it’s about belief, it’s about faith, working hard and it’s true that the club has moved on in two-and-a-half years”, added the 44-year-old.

Tottenham are currently second in the Premier League and are seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.

They will take on Manchester City on Saturday and will look to defeat Pep Guardiola’s men in order to extend their winning run.
