Liverpool starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised team-mate Philippe Coutinho and insisted that the Brazilian’s presence on the pitch boosts the Reds’ confidence.

Coutinho has shown tremendous development and has grown into one of the Merseyside giants’ most influential players on the pitch over the years.

He continued to perform this season as well until an injury in November forced him to miss his side’s next seven Premier League games.

The attacking midfielder returned recently to his side after recovering from the injury and also helped his team to progress to the next round of the FA Cup by providing the assist for the only goal scored during the Reds’ match against Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday.

Alexander-Arnold, who has featured in Liverpool’s last two games, said that Jurgen Klopp's team feel more confident whenever Coutinho plays.

"He's an unbelievable player, the things he can do with the ball", Alexander-Arnold told the club website.

"It gives everyone a bit more confidence when he's on the pitch, knowing that he can make things happen against the run of play.

"That's what happened against Manchester United, we were pinned back but as soon as he came on he made an impact and it made the game a bit easier knowing he was an outlet for us", added the 18-year-old.

Coutinho has thus far made 17 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season and has six goals in addition to seven assists to his name.
