Marseille presently find themselves in the pole position to sign Juventus defender Patrice Evra, according to French daily La Provence.

The Frenchman, who has struggled for game time at Juventus this season, has been heavily linked with leaving the Italian champions during the ongoing winter transfer window.

Crystal Palace, Valencia and Lyon have all been credited with showing interest in the former Manchester United man, whose present contract with Juventus is due to expire this summer.

Although Marseille joined the chase for Evra late, it has been claimed that they are currently in a favourable position to land the left-back this month, with the Ligue 1 giants having sent an 18-month contract to the 35-year-old earlier in the week.

Crystal Palace have already made an offer to Evra, but it is yet to convince him, while Lyon boss Bruno Genesio also acknowledged his side’s interest in the full-back.

Valencia also remain in the hunt for Evra, who has featured just 13 times in all competitions for Juventus in the present campaign.

He is due to tell Juventus today whether he wants to stay at the club or leave this month.
