Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has revealed that AC Milan technical director Massimiliano Mirabelli did ask about Andrea Belotti when the two met on Wednesday.

Petrachi and Mirabelli met on Wednesday afternoon to hold talks just ahead of the transfer window, with suggestions that the two discussed business that might happen between Torino and AC Milan in the summer.

Belotti remains the most coveted jewel in Torino’s crown with clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter said to be interested in signing him in the coming months.

And Petrachi admits that the Italy forward’s name cropped up in discussions with Mirabelli, but the Torino sporting director was quick to point out it would be difficult for any Serie A club to sign Belotti.

Asked of Belotti’s name was discussed with Mirabelli, the Torino transfer chief told Sportitalia: “Yes, because he likes Belotti.

“But he didn’t tell me whether he would have the money for Belotti.

“And I repeat that it’s difficult for an Italian club to take him [away from us].”

Belotti has a release clause of €100m in his contract, but it is only applicable to clubs outside Italy.
