Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers thinks people are waiting for the game his team go soft and lose their focus, after the Hoops beat Aberdeen 3-1 on Friday night.

The Bhoys, who are yet to lose a domestic game in the present campaign, raced to a 3-0 lead by the 11th minute at Pittodrie, courtesy of goals from Dedryck Boyata, Stuart Armstrong and Leigh Griffiths.

Although the hosts managed to reduce the arrears in the 12th minute, Celtic saw out the game and reached the 100-point mark this season, while narrowly missing out on the century goal barrier by just one strike.

Despite already winning the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup, in addition to reaching the Scottish Cup final, where they will face Aberdeen later in the month, Celtic are showing no signs of slowing down.

And Rodgers explained that although everyone is expecting Celtic to slip up, his side are preparing well to win every single game.

“It’s an incredible achievement”, he told the club’s official site after Celtic reached the 100-point mark.

“Our target going into the game tonight was could we get 100 points and could we get 100 goals, so when the players started that way in that first 15 minutes, I thought we might get the four goals but we just fell short of that.

“One of our targets in pre-season was to get 100-plus goals, so hopefully we can achieve that in our next two games, but to get to 100 points with two games to go really shows our level, our quality and, as much as anything, the focus of the team.

“I think people are waiting for the game we go soft and lose our focus but that’s not been the case.

“We are preparing every single day to win every single game, to train the best we can and win.

“The players are doing it really well.”

Celtic will next face Partick Thistle in an away league fixture on Thursday.
