Norwich City are interested in snapping up Aston Villa and Leeds United target Marley Watkins during the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old winger is available on a free transfer as his contract at Barnsley is set expire next month and he has managed to attract the interest of several Championship clubs.

Scoring ten goals and providing nine assists for a Barnsley side which finished in the lower half of the table, Watkins is in demand, with Leeds and Aston Villa already linked with wanting him.

However, there could be a scramble for his signature in the upcoming months as according to BBC Radio Sheffield, Norwich are also keen on signing the former Inverness winger.

After a disappointing season, where Norwich were runaway favourites for promotion but only finished eighth, the club are again looking to build a team good enough to challenge at the top of the Championship.
