Valencia are keeping an eye on Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin as they look to strengthen their midfield in the summer transfer window.

The Frenchman has not been a regular starter for Arsenal this season as Arsene Wenger has rung the changes in the final weeks of the season in order to try to creep back into the top four.

While he remains a key part of the squad, there are suggestions that another summer of recruitment could further sideline him next season and he could be considering a move at the end of the campaign.

And according to Spanish sports daily AS, Coquelin is one of the midfielders Valencia are closely following ahead of the transfer window and the club are keeping a check on his performances.

Arsene Wenger remains a fan of the 26-year-old midfielder but it remains to be seen whether he manages to convince the Frenchman to stay if prospects of regular football diminish next season.

Joining the Arsenal academy in 2008, Coquelin has clocked in 145 appearances for the Gunners and has a contract until 2021 with the club.

However, he is not the only midfielder on Valencia’s radar as the club are also considering making a move for Malaga midfield operator Ignacio Camacho.
