Aston Villa have named their price for Jordan Veretout, who has been on loan at Saint-Etienne this season.

The 24-year-old French midfielder joined the Ligue 1 side on loan last summer after Aston Villa were relegated from the Premier League and has rediscovered his touch in France.

A key player for Saint-Etienne this season, Veretout has been a regular fixture in the team this term, clocking up 42 appearances over all competitions for the club.

Saint-Etienne remain keen to keep him at the club beyond the end of the season and are hoping to sign him on a permanent contract from the Championship side during the summer transfer window.

However, the Ligue 1 side are struggling to cobble together the finances as according to French outlet Buzz Sport, Villa are demanding a transfer fee of €8m to allow the Frenchman to move to Saint-Etienne on a permanent deal.

The transfer fee is a problem for Saint-Etienne and coupled with the player’s wage demands, the club are struggling to put together the money needed to sign the player in the summer.

However, the Ligue 1 outfit are ready to stretch their means and look to get an agreement over the line as they are determined to keep Veretout at the club for next season.
