Former Liverpool star Nigel Spackman wants the Reds to fully focus on their match against Middlesbrough on Sunday, instead of thinking about results elsewhere.

Jurgen Klopp’s team, who are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 73 points from 37 games, will finish in the top four if they manage to beat Boro at Anfield.

Liverpool are just two points adrift of third-placed Manchester City and one point ahead of Arsenal, who occupy fifth spot.

While the Merseyside giants play Middlesbrough on Sunday, Arsenal will take on Everton and Manchester City will come up against Watford on the same day.

But because a top four finish is still Liverpool's hands, Spackman has called on his former employers to just concentrate on their match against Middlesbrough and not think about the results of their immediate rivals.

“I just think they just have one game and they know it’s in their hands”, Spackman told LFC TV, when asked if Liverpool will be distracted on the final day, knowing that they can be knocked out of the top four.

“You have got to win it and forget about everything else.

“Middlesbrough can’t score goals and they are a great team to play in the last game of the season at Anfield with a chance to finish in the top four, hopefully the top three and Champions League football.

“So just concentrate on yourselves.”

Middlesbrough have managed to score just 27 goals in 37 Premier League games this season, the lowest in the division.
