Liverpool legend Ray Houghton believes that it seems as if Lucas Leiva is leaving the club this summer.

Lucas has completed ten years at Anfield, having joined the club from Gremio in 2007, and was presented with a trophy by former manager and player Kenny Dalglish after Sunday's 3-0 win over Middlesbrough at Anfield.

He was brought on in the 79th minute at Anfield and after the match cut an emotional figure on the pitch, while his wife in the stands was also gripped with emotion.

Lucas has been linked with leaving Liverpool this summer and Houghton believes the Brazilian had the look of a man saying goodbye.

"It sounded that way [that he is leaving]", Houghton said, after watching Lucas give an interview on LFC TV on the pitch.

"He was very emotional for a reason and you don't get that emotional if you are staying at a club.

"It's [ten years] absolutely amazing.

"He is the sort of player you want around you, no fuss, gets on with the job and he's improved year on year at Liverpool", the former Republic of Ireland international added.

Lucas has repeatedly been linked with moves away from Liverpool in recent years, but has continued to ply his trade at Anfield.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was asked after the game whether Lucas has turned out for Liverpool for the last time and said he does not know.
