Tottenham Hotspur target Joel Veltman admits that his wife Naomi would jump at the chance to move to London, if Spurs make a move.

Veltman is currently focusing on trying to help Ajax beat Manchester United in the Europa League final later this week, but the Dutch defender has been linked with a switch to the Premier League in the summer.

The 25-year-old joked he must keep his wife happy and admits that London would do the trick, with talk Tottenham are keen.

"If there is a club from London, then she is the first to say 'sign!'", he said on Ziggo Sport's Peptalk programme, when asked about Spurs' interest.

However, the defender has not heard from the Premier League outfit, though he rates Spurs as "wonderful", hinting the door could be open to landing at White Hart Lane.

"No, I have not heard anything in terms of interest.

"But sure, it's a wonderful club."

Veltman explained that while he would look at the club in any future move, his wife wants the right country: "You've got keep your woman happy. That is sort of a package deal: I'm a beautiful club, she's a beautiful country."

But the Ajax defender is not thinking about the future yet and wants to focus on the present, which is taking on Manchester United in the final this week.

"Let's start with winning the final first", Veltman added.

The 25-year-old is a product of the Ajax youth system and if he did move to Spurs he would see a number of familiar faces.

Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen, all former Ajax players, are at White Hart Lane.
