Pedro Caixinha has labelled the Rangers supporters the best fans in the world, with the manager hopeful about providing the Gers faithful with much more happiness next season.

The Light Blues, who beat St. Johnstone 3-1 on Sunday, ended the season in third spot with 67 points from 38 games, a staggering 39 points adrift of champions Celtic.

As a result of finishing third, Rangers will be playing in the Europa League qualifiers this summer.

With Rangers set to compete in four competitions next season, Caixinha underlined the importance of the Gers having a strong squad at their disposal, which will also provide the supporters with entertainment.

And the Portuguese tactician, who hailed the Rangers fans as the best in the world, insisted that he is receiving the complete backing of the club’s hierarchy in terms of transfers.

“Our fans are, for sure, the best fans in the world”, Caixinha said on Rangers TV.

“They know that we are working hard for them and we hope next season we can give them much more happiness.

“We will be involved in four competitions next season, so it is important for us to have a competitive team for them to enjoy and for them to keep supporting and spread that spirit between the stands and the pitch, and from the pitch to the stands as well.

“We are working.

"We know what we want and Dave [King], the Chairman is giving us his total, full support so we are just dealing with the last couple of players to add to have the squad we really want and the fans desire as well.”

Rangers, who appointted Caixinha as their new manager in March, failed to win any silverware this season.
