Former Ajax captain Danny Blind doesn’t feel his son Daley needs any tips from him ahead of Wednesday night’s Europa League final between Manchester United and the Amsterdam club.

Daley will be coming up against his former side at the Friends Arena when Manchester United take the field to face Ajax in what is being touted as the biggest game of their recent history.

Danny, the defender’s further, skipped Ajax to the UEFA Cup and the Champions League in the early 1990s and is considered one of the great players to wear the club’s colours.

The former defender won it all with Ajax, but believes he has no secrets to share with his son ahead of the big game on Wednesday night as his record in finals is not perfect.

Danny believes the Manchester United defender is experienced enough not to suffer from any nerves ahead of the big game and doesn’t need any extra tips from him.

Asked what he would tell his son ahead of the final, the former Ajax captain told De Telegraaf: “I have no secrets [to share].

“I played five finals, I won three times and lost twice, you can only say that there is a secret if I had a 100 per cent record.

“Daley is now 27 and is not afraid of anything, he has experienced both the positive and the negative.

“He doesn’t need any tips from me; he can come up with a few himself.”
