Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg admits that he would be happy to score the ugliest goal of his career if it wins the Europa League against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Dolberg has been pivotal in Ajax’s journey to Stockholm in this season’s Europa League and scored two vital goals in the semi-final tie against Lyon, in which the Dutch giants scraped through at the end.

They will be taking on tournament favourites Manchester United in the final on Wednesday night and Dolberg admits that he is relishing the prospect of facing a top team such as the Red Devils.

He has conceded that he has already dreamed about scoring in the final at the Friends Arena and insisted that he wouldn’t mind if it is the ugliest strike of his career, if the goal wins the Europa League for the Dutch giants.

The 19-year-old Dane told De Telegraaf, ahead of the big final: “I have more fun in playing against stronger opponents because they are far more challenging.

“In my dreams I have already scored twice in the final and woke up smiling.

“It doesn’t matter [how I score] and probably the reality will be different, but if I decide the final, it might be the ugliest goal of my career.”

Dolberg has netted 26 goals in all competitions this season, including six strikes en route to the Europa League final.
