FC Porto have made a fresh offer to Marcos Silva to become their next coach, but are in a fight with Crystal Palace for his signature.

The young Portuguese coach caught the eye of many in England despite his failure to keep Hull City away from relegation this season and he has a plethora of offers to choose from in the summer.

The 39-year-old met Portuguese giants Porto earlier in the week to discuss the possibility of taking charge of the club but it has been claimed that he rejected their first offer.

But Porto have not lost hope of appointing Silva and according to Radio Renascenca, the club have made a better second offer to tempt him to return to Portugal in the summer.

The club are expecting an answer from Silva before the end of Saturday and are hopeful of snapping him up, but they are facing stiff competition from Premier League outfit Palace.

The Eagles are also eyeing the young coach and it has been claimed that they have made a more lucrative contract proposal to Silva as he weighs up his offers in the next few days.

Silva is Porto’s top priority but it remains to be seen whether the 39-year-old decides to move to London or return to his homeland with one of the giants of Portuguese football.
