Dalcio Gomes is Rangers bound, with the midfielder expected to travel to Glasgow at the end of the week to complete a move to Ibrox, according to Portuguese outlet Mais Futebol.

The Benfica B midfielder will sign a season-long loan deal with the Gers, who finished third in the Scottish Premiership in the recently concluded season, it has been claimed.

Rangers’ pre-season is scheduled to start early on 5th June as they will be playing in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, which will commence towards the end of the next month.

As a result, Gomes will have to shorten his holiday and head to Glasgow this week to join up with the Rangers squad, managed by Portuguese tactician Pedro Caixinha.

The 21-year-old, who joined Benfica’s B team from Belenenses in December 2015, managed 33 second division league appearances during the 2016/17 campaign, netting once and setting up three goals.
