Alfredo Morelos has admitted he is looking forward to battling Celtic in the Old Firm after jetting into Scotland to finalise a move to Rangers.

The Colombian striker has caught Rangers' eye with his performances in Finland with the country's giants, HJK Helsinki.

He has now arrived in Scotland and is expected to become Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha's sixth signing of the summer, with the Portuguese continuing to reshape his squad at some pace.

For Morelos, there is much to look forward to when it comes to playing for Rangers, not least battling the club's fierce rivals Celtic in one of the world's most famous derby matches.

"I know Rangers from the internet, their supporters, they're wonderful. Rangers are a big team here in Scotland", Morelos was quoted as saying by STV.

"The Old Firm is just incredible, a different game with lots of emotions so I just hope to make things right as I've been doing lately, and I hope the manager can count on me so I can play every game."

Just 20 years old, it remains to be seen whether Caixinha views Morelos as a player ready to slot straight into the team at Ibrox, or instead looks to work on the striker's development first before handing him regular game time.

Morelos scored 21 goals in just 25 appearances for HJK Helsinki last term, but will face a considerable step up in standard in Scotland.
