Stuttgart sporting director Jan Schindelmeiser has insisted Leeds United have not been in touch over signing Alexandru Maxim.

The Romania international schemer has been strongly linked with the English Championship club, with suggestions the Whites are closing in on his signature.

Stuttgart are willing to sell Maxim for the right price, claimed to be around the €3m mark, a sum likely to be in reach for Leeds.

But Schindelmeiser is clear that the Yorkshire giants have not been in touch over snapping up Maxim.

"We do have have any requests from Leeds", the sporting director told the Stuttgarter Nachrichten.
