Chelsea and Manchester United have been closely monitoring Marco Verratti’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain, who have rejected a bid from Barcelona.

After an underwhelming season in France and Europe, Verratti is angling for a move away from PSG this summer and is keen to join Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Catalans are also interested in snapping up the Italian midfielder but they have so far failed to breach PSG’s wall around the player and the Parisians have already rejected a €75m bid from Barcelona.

The uncertainty surrounding his future has not gone unnoticed in England too and according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Verratti’s situation.

Chelsea have been long term admirers of the midfielder and Manchester United remain keen to add more quality to their midfield this summer as they look to sign a long term replacement for Michael Carrick.

PSG have maintained on the outside that they won’t sell their star player but with the Italian pushing for a move, the club are said to be prepared to entertain offers in excess of €100m.

Manchester United have already shown with their signing of Paul Pogba that they are not afraid to breach that figure and even Chelsea have the means to pull off such a deal.
