Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi has given his nod to the club’s pursuit of Sunderland striker and Celtic target Fabio Borini.

With Sunderland relegated from the Premier League, the 26-year-old is looking to leave the club and is said to prefer a move back to Italy during the summer transfer window.

Celtic are interested in taking him north to Scotland where he could reunite with former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, but Borini is prioritising a move to Italy at the moment.

AC Milan have also been linked with a move for the player and the Italian is keen to wait for the Rossoneri to make a concrete offer, but it seems he could have other options in Italy.

Lazio have been keeping an eye on the 26-year-old for a while and according to Il Messaggero, the club have received the green signal from head coach Inzaghi to make their move.
