Liverpool could end up paying nearly £44m for Mohamed Salah, after they signed the winger from Roma.

The Reds saw negotiations with Roma drag out as they looked to reach an agreement with the Italian Serie A giants and they have splashed the cash to take Salah to Anfield.

According to Sky Italia, Liverpool are paying an initial €42m (£36.9m) for the winger, but the deal also includes €8m in bonus payments, which could see the total fee paid to Roma come in at €50m (£43.9m).

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was determined to have Salah in his squad and the Reds have pushed the boat out to hand the German his man.

Roma paid €15m to sign Salah on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell, meaning they have made a big profit on the winger.
