Arsene Wenger spoke to Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe's agents last week to convince him to join Arsenal but the player remains unconvinced about the Gunners.

The 18-year-old hitman is the hottest name in the transfer market at the moment, with some of Europe’s top clubs trying to snare him away from Monaco in the upcoming window.

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed verbal terms with the player and the youngster has also told the Monaco hierarchy that he will only opt for a transfer to the European champions.

However, other clubs have not given up hope of signing Mbappe and it has been claimed that Wenger is working hard behind the scenes to make sure Arsenal are in with a chance to sign the hottest young talent of world football at the moment.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Wenger directly spoke with the player's entourage to convince the striker over a move to the Emirates Stadium during the summer transfer window.
