Newcastle United and Brighton are showing an interest in snapping up Levante midfielder Victor Camarasa this summer.

The Spaniard spent the last season on loan at Alaves and impressed as he helped the newly promoted outfit to finish as high as ninth in the top tier of Spanish football.

Levante did earn promotion from the Segunda Division last season, but it is unclear whether Camarasa will continue at the club as he is attracting interest from England.

According to the Times, Brighton and Newcastle have shown an interest in the Spaniard and he could be on his way to England after impressing in La Liga last season.

It has been claimed that Premier League new boys Brighton have shown more of a concrete interest and Newcastle's enquiries about the player are still tentative in nature.

With both clubs in the Premier League next season, they are looking to build a squad good enough to survive in the top tier and are looking at Camarasa as a possible target.

The Spaniard still has a contract until 2019 with Levante, but with interest from the Premier League it remains to be seen whether the Spanish outfit manage to hold on to him this summer.
