Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea linked midfielder Marco Verratti has insisted that he wants to see Paris Saint-Germain keep their promises this summer before he takes a decision on his future.

The Italian midfielder has told the PSG hierarchy that he wants to leave, but the Parisians have made it clear that they won’t be allowing their star player to depart.

A meeting between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Verratti earlier this week didn’t yield any results as both camps stuck to their stances and clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the situation.

Verratti has spoken out about his situation at PSG and insisted that he is happy to continue at the club as long as they back up their talk and assemble a great squad at the Parc des Princes.

He feels PSG have for long talked too much and for once, he wants to see the club keep their promises and build a great team in the summer.

Verratti told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Given I won’t be leaving any cost, I want to see whether they will really create a great team and in that event I will be happy to stay.

“Every year they say things, but then we saw the results. Just promises are not enough.

“If PSG, with [sporting director Antero] Henrique, do what they are saying than I will be happy to stay.”

Verratti has a contract until 2021 with PSG.
