Pedro Caixinha is poised to offload midfielder Andy Halliday, who is set to sign for Azerbaijani outfit Gabala.

Halliday is flying out to Austria, according to BBC Scotland, where he will link up with Gabala with a view to joining on a season-long loan deal.

Gabala, who finished as runners-up in the Azerbaijani top flight last term, have a pre-season training camp in progress in Salzburg.

Halliday is out of favour under Caixinha at Ibrox and was recently left out of Rangers' 25-man Europa League squad.

Ironically a move to Gabala could see Halliday playing in the Europa League as the club are in the second qualifying round of the competition, where they will face either Dinamo Batumi or Jagiellonia Bialystok.

Halliday spent time in the youth ranks at Rangers earlier in his career, but was released by the Gers and moved to Livingston.
