Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal linked German midfielder Max Meyer is in talks with Hoffenheim ahead of a possible switch this summer.

The 21-year-old has a year left on his contract Schalke and has so far refused to sign a new agreement, with a departure from Gelsenkirchen said to be on the cards this summer.

The German talent has attracted interest from Premier League clubs with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, with a move to England regularly mooted as possible for the Schalke star.

However, it seems the midfielder could opt to continue in Germany as according to SportBild, his representatives have been in talks with Hoffenheim over a summer switch.

The two parties are yet to agree on the financial terms of an agreement and it is unclear whether Hoffenheim have approached Schalke to sit down for talks over a fee for the Meyer.

Schalke have not lost hope of convincing Meyer to continue at the club but it seems the midfielder’s agents are at work to engineer his departure from the Veltins Arena.

It remains to be seen if Meyer's Premier League suitors look to push into the race.

Meyer is currently with the German Under-21s who beat their England counterparts in the Under-21 European Championship semi-final on penalties on Tuesday night.
