Vitesse coach Henk Fraser does not think the Dutch club will be able to succeed in taking Matt Miazga on loan again from Chelsea for next season.

The American centre-back made 23 appearances in the Eredivisie for the Arnhem-based outfit last term and acquitted himself well throughout the course of a successful loan spell.

Vitesse managed a finish of fifth in the Dutch top flight last term and Fraser makes no bones about the fact he would love the Chelsea talent back at the club for next season.

But he thinks Miazga is on the agenda of a number of bigger clubs and re-signing the 21-year-old is a pipe dream.

"I would love Matt to come back for the coming season, but I think that's almost impossible", the Vitesse boss told De Gelderlander.

"He had a top year at Vitesse.

"He has developed very well here.

"Matt is well-liked at various big clubs and is also in the American squad for the Gold Cup.

"I expect him to grow even more at a higher level", Fraser added.

Miazga has so far won just two senior caps for the United States at international level and will be in the shop window as he adds to his tally at the Gold Cup this summer.
