Juventus have rekindled their interest in Liverpool midfielder Emre Can as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi.

The Germany midfielder has been in talks with Liverpool over a new contract to replace his current deal, which expires next summer, but is yet to reach an agreement.

Juventus have been keeping an eye on the midfielder over the last few months, but it has been claimed that PSG’s Matuidi remains their top midfield target for the summer.

However, Juventus have been left frustrated in negotiations with PSG who are demanding €30m for a player whose contract expires at the end of next season.

The Italian champions are not prepared to shell out such a figure for a 30-year-old midfielder and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they could turn their attention towards Liverpool’s Can.
