Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Liverpool linked defender Presnel Kimpembe and are interested in snaring him away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The 21-year-old central defender was on Chelsea’s radar last year before they signed David Luiz, but despite the Brazilian’s departure the youngster continued to be in and out of the team last season.

He is a highly rated young prospect at PSG and the club have no intention of selling him, but according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Inter contacted the Parisians earlier in the summer for Kimpembe.

Experienced deal-maker Walter Sabatini spoke to the PSG hierarchy and while the Italian didn’t make any offer, he made Inter’s interest in the 21-year-old defender apparent to the Parisians.

PSG have not opened the door towards Kimpembe’s exit from the club as they are convinced about the youngster’s potential and want to hold on to him for their future.

However, Kimpembe, who is also Jurgen Klopp’s radar, wants regular minutes and is expected to ask for assurances about regular playing time next season before committing his future to the club.

Inter are counting on the defender’s ambition to play regular football, which could pave his way out of PSG this summer.

He has a contract until 2021 with PSG.
