Anderlecht want clarification from Manchester United target Leander Dendoncker over his future at the club by the middle of this month.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder’s future has come under the scanner over the past week after it emerged Manchester United are keeping tabs on him this summer.

His agent also revealed talks with Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week and even Everton and Atletico Madrid have been keen on signing the defensive midfielder from Anderlecht.

The Belgian outfit are also aware of interest in their midfielder and according to Het Nieuwsblad, the club have asked the player to clarify his future by the middle of the month.

Anderlecht are keen to hold on to the defensive midfielder, but are aware if the big clubs come calling, there is very little they could do to convince Dendoncker to continue with them next season.

However, the club are keen to get his future sorted out soon as they want some time to find a replacement for the midfielder should he decide to leave this month.

Anderlecht sporting director Herman Van Holsbeeck said: “It is certain that we won’t let Leander leave in the final days of the transfer window.

“We are doing everything to get him to stay for one more season.”

The 22-year-old has a contract until 2021 with Anderlecht.
