Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is expected to take a call on his future at Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Galatasaray recently showed an interest in the Belgian midfielder, but Jose Mourinho made it very clear that he won’t be selling Fellaini to any club in the current window.

The Turkish giants snapped up Badou Ndiaye from Osmanlispor as an alternative, and more or less ended their interest in the Manchester United midfielder for the time being.

However, the 28-year-old’s future at Manchester United remains unclear as the club are yet to offer him new contract, which would replace his current deal that expires next summer.

And the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea earlier this week is expected to further minimise his opportunities next season in the first team.

According to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad, the Belgian will take a decision on his future in January, based on the amount of opportunities he gets in the first half of the upcoming campaign.

Fellaini wants to feature in next year’s World Cup for Belgium and is aware that he needs to play regular football to make into Roberto Martinez’s highly competitive squad.

Mourinho rates the Belgian midfielder, but Fellaini could opt to end his time at Manchester United in January should he remain a peripheral figure at Old Trafford.
