Newcastle United are amongst a number of clubs who are probing the possibility of signing wantaway Liverpool striker Divock Origi.

The 22-year-old Belgian wants to leave the Reds before the end of the transfer window for regular football and Liverpool are considering loaning him out before Thursday’s deadline.




With Origi seemingly available, he has attracted interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League and across Europe, including outfits from France and Germany.

His father has already mentioned the interest from Tottenham Hotspur, and according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Newcastle are also amongst the runners in the chase for the Belgium international.
 


Rafael Benitez wants a striker and Origi has emerged as a target but the Spaniard is facing heaving Premier League and foreign interest in the striker, including from Crystal Palace, who are considering a move for the Liverpool man.

Origi has a concrete offer to return to France with Marseille but Monaco are also in the running and the striker is interested in joining the Ligue 1 champions if he receives guarantees about playing regular football.

The Liverpool striker has also attracted interest from Bundesliga outfits Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg but he is yet to make a definitive decision over his future.
