Malmo head coach Magnus Pehrsson says he well understands why forward Pawel Cibicki is attracted to a move to England, as a transfer for the player to Leeds United looms.

Leeds have been in talks with Malmo over signing Cibicki and are reported to be paying the Swedish club a fee of around £1.55m to take him to the Championship.

Cibicki was absent from Malmo training on Wednesday and the club's sporting director Daniel Andersson admitted he is in talks with another club.

Leeds appear to be the club Cibicki is set to join and Pehrsson understands the temptations of the move for the forward.

"I think he is a very good player", the Malmo boss told SkaneSport.

"But if he now takes this step and gets to play there then he is ready for it.

"I understand that the chance to go to a big football nation is tempting and there is certainly money in the picture too", Pehrsson added.

Leeds will need to work quickly to put the finishing touches to a deal to take Cibicki to Elland Road as the clock is ticking down to Thursday night's transfer deadline.

When the window shuts the Whites will not be able to make any further additions until January, unless they bring in players who are free agents.
