Lazio are considering making a move for wantaway Arsenal striker Lucas Perez with a day left in the transfer window.

Perez has been keen to leave Arsenal all summer and despite interest from Deportivo La Coruna, Newcastle United and Levante, the striker is still a Gunner with little more than 24 hours left in the window.

Lazio have been keeping tabs on the Spaniard for a while and club sporting director Igli Tare met Perez earlier this month to discuss a move, but they were not willing to match his €3.5m salary package at the Emirates.

But with Keita Balde’s transfer to Monaco set to bring €30m into their coffers, the club are now considering returning to the negotiating table for Perez in the final hours of the transfer window.

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Biancocelesti could approach Arsenal with an offer to sign Perez on loan with an option to make the move permanent at a later date.

Lazio are also prepared to match or at least get close to Perez’s wage demands if Arsenal agree to their offer but for the moment the club are expecting the negotiations to be stiff.

While the Spaniard is intrigued at the possibility of moving to the Stadio Olimpico, he is not yet fully convinced and his preferred option is still believed to be a return to his former club Deportivo, while a switch to Newcastle would continue his Premier League adventure.
