West Ham United and Watford have been offered the opportunity to sign Nicolas Gaitan before the transfer window closes.

Gaitan was regularly linked with moving to the Premier League during his time at Portuguese giants Benfica, but eventually headed to La Liga with Atletico Madrid.

He fears a lack of playing time at the Vicente Calderon this season and, according to Spanish daily AS, has asked his representatives to move him to another club on loan.

Gaitan's agents have now been in touch with a number of clubs, including West Ham and Watford.

A permanent deal is off the table, but Gaitan could move to the Premier League on loan.

Both Watford and West Ham still appear to be in the market for further additions, but the jury is out on whether they will want to chase a deal for Gaitan.

Over Atletico Madrid's two La Liga games so far, Gaitan has clocked up just 21 minutes of action.
