Vincent Kompany is a doubt for Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime after he missed training on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old defender has been struggling with calf problems over the last rwo campaigns and he played just eleven Premier League games last season for Pep Guardiola's side.

With Manchester City failing to bring in cover at centre-back, Kompany’s presence in the team is even more important, but the defender could be a doubt to face Liverpool at the Etihad.

The defender missed training and according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Manchester City are concerned that the Belgian has not completely recovered from his calf issues.
