Pep Guardiola has named his Manchester City matchday squad that will take on Liverpool in a Premier League clash later this afternoon at the Etihad Stadium.
With Vincent Kompany injured, John Stones will be making his first start of the season with Nicolas Otamendi serving as his centre-back partner. Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy will be filling up the rest of the back five, with Fernandinho playing as the lone holding midfielder.
Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva will be looking to offer creativity from the middle of the park with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus playing up front. Ilkay Gundogan returns to the bench and Guardiola also has the attacking options of Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva to call upon if required.
Just sneaking a win against Bournemouth ahead of the international break, Guardiola is aware that his team need to be a lot better to beat an in-form Liverpool side at home today.
