Genk star Sander Berge has no complaints about the Belgian side waving away bids for him in the summer transfer window, despite links with Arsenal, Everton and Sevilla.

The 19-year-old Norwegian only joined Genk in the January 2017 transfer window, but instantly impressed and has attracted attention from clubs in bigger leagues.

Genk could have made a quick and big profit on Berge, but decided early on in the summer they would not sell and stuck to their stance, even though a bid of over €15m came in from Sevilla.

The midfielder has no complaints about Genk wanting to keep him and is happy the club are pleased with his performances.

"It's a bit special", Berge was quoted as saying by Norwegian daily VG.

"I do not know if the club have put a specific price on me, but they have been clear that they want to keep players regardless of the price to fight at the top.

"I think it's nice that the club like what I'm doing", he added.

Genk have Berge locked down on a contract until the summer of 2021 and are in a healthy financial situation, meaning no pressure to cash in on the midfielder.

He has already made six appearances for the club in all competitions this season.

It remains to be seen if Genk's stance will be tested again in January.
