Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has revealed his frustration following the Reds' draw against Sevilla at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Liverpool suffered for missing a penalty and defensive errors as Sevilla scored a 72nd minute equaliser to earn a point from a 2-2 draw at Anfield in their Champions League group game.

Their defence again came under the scanner as they were culpable for both of Sevilla’s goals, but Liverpool created enough opportunities put the game to bed before the Spanish side scored the second goal.

Aldridge feels had Firmino converted his penalty, Liverpool could have comfortably gone on to win all three points and admits it is a bitter pill to swallow for the Reds.

The former Liverpool striker was also left frustrated by the costly defensive mistakes, which have been bugging the Reds in the first month of the season.

“[We] score the penalty its probably 5-1!!? But that's football.
