Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said that it is too early for him to comment on the starting line-up for Saturday's game, but Philippe Coutinho could be in contention to start against Burnley.

The Brazilian was linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer and had in fact submitted a transfer request only to be denied by the Reds, who maintained their not for sale stance.

The player has since been out of the team, only to return to action in their last Champions League match against Sevilla as a second-half substitute.

And now the match against Burnley at Anfield on Saturday could be his first match in the Premier League this season, with Coutinho's manager insisting that the player should be ready for the match.

Giving his opinion on the player and how he can build on the Champions League appearance, the manager said at his pre-match press conference: “You can build up and get minutes when you start.

“It’s not the moment where I talk about the line-up of tomorrow, but he should be ready.

“It was really nice how the crowd welcomed him [against Sevilla].

"Nobody was 100 per cent sure about this, but I am really happy that we were, as a Liverpool family, sensitive enough to do it exactly like this. I think it was good for him."

With Sadio Mane being suspended for the match, Coutinho's return will boost the confidence of the team, who are coming fresh off a 5-0 defeat against Manchester City in their last league match.
