Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels the Gunners can be proud of what Kieran Gibbs achieved while at the club, while the Frenchman also admitted it will be strange to see the left-back on the opposing team when West Brom take on Arsenal.

The left-back swapped the red and white of Arsenal for the white and blue of West Brom in the summer.

And Monday will be the day when he will have the chance to return to his old club when the Baggies take on Wenger's team in a league match in the evening.

For the French manager it will be strange feeling to see one of his club's academy products play for a different club at the Emirates Stadium.

“It will strange to see him in a different shirt because he is a player who has been educated here from a very young age”, Wenger told his club's official website.

However, the veteran manager also took time to wish luck to his former player, insisting that Arsenal and Gibbs are proud of the player he is.

“I am sure that he will have great motivation and will have a huge influence at West Brom, and it can give another push to his career.

“He has become an English international here.

"He has made a good career here and I believe that Arsenal is very proud for that and Kieran Gibbs can be proud."

For the England international Monday's appearance will be the fourth of the season, including one in the EFL Cup.
