Rangers custodian Wes Foderingham has full confidence in his team's ability to cause Celtic problems when the Gers take on their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Gers have found success hard to come by against their Glasgow rivals of late, having managed a draw only once in the last five meetings.

However, Saturday will be a different game altogether, the 26-year-old goalkeeper feels, as this time around Rangers have the quality that is needed to challenge a side of Celtic's stature.

"They have quality but we have quality", the goalkeeper, who signed a new deal with the club earlier this week, was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"It's two good teams going head to head. Can we cause them problems? Yes.

"Can they cause us problems? Yes, so it's about who turns up on the day and hopefully it's us.

"We have improved on last season."

The last time the Gers were able to beat their rivals was in April 2016 when they beat the Bhoys, managed then by Ronny Deila, 5-4 on penalties.

According to Foderingham, a win at Ibrox would be bigger than that as the current Celtic side are better in every aspect from the 2016 side and winning against the current side would be tougher.

Reflecting on that performance, the goalkeeper said: "We were playing in the Championship, but Celtic were not a great side.

"Let's be honest, they were not a great side when we beat them.

"They were not playing terrifically well, but confidence was really high in the Rangers team.

"But if we can put on a better performance against them in the league and get some wins then that will definitely be a massive achievement.
