Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas admits that under Antonio Conte if a player is not giving his all on the training pitch he won’t be playing in the team.

Fabregas struggled to get game time last season after Conte started playing with a back three, but the Spaniard has been more involved since the start of the new campaign.




The midfielder has insisted that he just started doing the job Conte wanted him to do and admits that training is a crucial aspect of the Italian’s process because of the amount of tactical maneuvers he practices behind the scenes.

And the Chelsea man admits that if a player is not giving his best on the training pitch, he won’t be playing in the first team and could be forced to train with the reserves.
 


Fabregas also recalled his time training with the youngsters in the Chelsea reserves and admits that he didn’t hold back in order to return to Conte’s plans.

Asked what has changed between himself and Conte this season, the midfielder told Spanish sports daily AS: “Not much, I just played as he asked me to.

“He could be the only coach who provides you with many tactical variations so training is crucial.

"If you don’t give you 200 per cent in training, you don’t play.

“We all had to adapt to a new kind of football and we did really well.

"When you don’t play well then you will have to train with the reserves.

“When I trained with the reserves I ate them all. They were 16 or 17 but I didn’t care, I ate them.”

Fabregas has started four of the five league games he has been available to play this season and is expected to play a major part as Chelsea look to challenge on all fronts.
