Sarpsborg sporting director Thomas Berntsen is hopeful that his side will be able to keep hold of Manchester United tracked Krepin Diatta until the summer transfer window next year.

The teenage attacker has been turning heads with his performances in the Norwegian top flight since being snapped up by Sarpsborg earlier this year.

The Norwegian side have already turned down a bid from one unnamed European side, while Manchester United have repeatedly scouted Diatta.

Sarpsborg are looking forward to a big pay day when the Senegalese eventually leaves and the talent was scouted again in Monday night's meeting with Odd BK.

"What I can say is that there are many big clubs that follow Diatta", Berntsen told TV 2.

"There were three big clubs here today and it is natural because he is the most exciting young player in the Eliteserien."

The sporting director was asked whether he anticipates being able to keep hold of Diatta into the next Norwegian season and struck a positive note.

"It's a bit uncertain, but there is even greater activity in the summer window than in January.

"So maybe we can keep him to the summer."

The sporting director is also expecting a big pay day for Sarpsborg when the time does come to let Diatta move on to pastures news.

"The clubs looking at him are clubs with big wallets.

"He will cost a lot of money, there's no doubt about it", he added.

Diatta has turned out for Senegal at Under-20 level.
