Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere insists that he is enjoying roles as a deep midfielder as well as an incutting number 10 and wants to get more minutes under his belt for the Gunners.

Arsene Wenger has employed the new 3-4-3 formation a number of times this season, using the England international in midfield and out on the left-hand side.

The formation is new to Wilshere, who spent last season out on loan at Bornemouth, though the 25-year-old insists that he is enjoying his new role in ways more than one.

While the midfielder's role is something Wilshere is more accustomed to, the player concerned insists that the left-hand side role doesn't simply allow him to play wide, but also come in to fill the spaces which usually a number ten does.

Now Wilshere wants to get more minutes for the team and establish himself as a regular for Arsenal in the near future.

“I can play in the deeper midfield role, which I did against Doncaster, and then I went and played on the left”, Wilshere told Arsenal's official magazine.

“I say on the left, but the boss told me before the game that he wanted me to come inside, get in the pockets [of space].

"He didn’t want me to play as a left winger.

"It’s almost like a No 10 position if you like.

“You can come into that position, and me and Theo [Walcott] were switching in the game.

"I’m enjoying both roles to be honest and looking forward to getting more minutes in both."
