Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton does not believe ex-Celtic player and assistant manager John Collins would be a good choice to succeed Gordon Strachan as Scotland boss.

Debate over Strachan's future as Scotland manager is now raging after the country again failed to qualify for a major finals.

Collins, who won 58 caps for Scotland as a player, while also playing for clubs such as Celtic and Monaco, has been included in the betting by bookmakers in the next Scotland manager market.

The 49-year-old recently had a two-year stint back at Celtic as assistant to Ronny Deila.

But Sutton will not back a fellow former Bhoy for the top job.

Asked on Twitter if Collins could be a good choice to replace Strachan, Sutton simply replied: "No."

Collins does have managerial experience, having taken charge of Hibernian, guiding the club to success in the Scottish League Cup, and Belgian side Charleroi.

Sutton's only time in the dugout came at Lincoln City in England's fourth tier, with the former striker recording a win percentage of 28 per cent during his year in charge.
