Arsene Wenger has revealed Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi will be out of action until next month due to a hamstring injury.

Arsenal were dealt a fresh blow in terms of an injury during the international break when Mustafi hobbled off with hamstring trouble while playing for Germany.

The defender has returned to Arsenal and Wenger admits that the German will be out of action for over a month and won’t be playing until at least the next international break in mid-November.

But there is also good news on the injury front as Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil have returned to full training with the squad and are available to play against Watford on Saturday.

Wenger said in a press conference: “We lost Mustafi for four to six weeks.

“I don’t think he will be available until the next international break.

“Ozil and Welbeck have come back to full training.”

The Arsenal boss provided a glimmer of hope to Arsenal fans regarding Laurent Koscielny’s return and revealed that the Frenchman will undergo a fitness test on Friday to determine his availability for Saturday.

“I have concerns about my defence because of the injuries, and I need to think about that.

“I will decide what I have to do when Koscielny has his test tomorrow.

"If he has no pain on his Achilles then he will play.”
