Celtic winger Patrick Roberts feels that re-signing for the Bhoys in the summer was the best decision for his career as he feels that he will continue to improve as a player in Scotland.

Roberts had a terrific 18-month loan spell at Celtic before returning to Manchester City at the end of last season and there was talk of the Citizens loaning him out to a Premier League club.

But Celtic managed to convince Manchester City to allow Roberts to return to Parkhead in the summer on another season-long loan deal and the winger played a key part in pushing for the move.

Roberts admits that he enjoys playing in Scotland and featuring in the Champions League for Celtic and believes they are the best club for him to continue to develop as a player.

The winger feels that returning to Celtic for another stint was the best decision for his career.

He said in a press conference: “I went back down south and enjoyed it there. It was nice to get some time to rest the legs.

“For me it’s just enjoying my football here in the league, cups and the Champions League. I enjoy my football here, I enjoy scoring goals.

“I said at the start, with the manager and the team here I felt that it was best for me to come here to improve as a player.

“I made that decision and I stand by that.

"I’ll keep playing my football, keep enjoying my football and keep playing well."
