St. Johnstone manager Tommy Wright feels Pedro Caixinha is paranoid if he thinks he got his hands on the Rangers team ahead of schedule last season.

Caixinha has indicated that someone leaked the Rangers team news to St. Johnstone last season, which led to Wright changing the training sessions of his side before the two teams met.

The Rangers manager has already riled up some of the St. Johnstone players by comparing them to Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton and now Wright is not amused by the Portuguese’s comments.

The St. Johnstone manager feels the Rangers boss is suffering from paranoia if he feels that his team planned their preparations last season based on getting the Gers team sheet.

He accused Caixinha of trying to spread bogus news ahead of their clash on Friday night.

Wright said in a press conference: “What he’s talking about in terms of us getting his team last season is just someone that’s paranoid.

“I didn’t get his team last season, we didn’t change our training regime, we didn’t sit about waiting for them to finish training to get the team.

“It just didn’t happen so now I know what fake news means.”

Rangers and St. Johnstone are level on points in the league table and the clash now has an extra bit of edge after Caixinha’s inflammatory statements about his side’s opponents.
